Pioneer Village takes visitors back in time
to the sights and sounds of a 19th century
village. Experience 100 years of history,
meet friendly folk from the past and visit
historic homes and businesses. In addition,
weavers, printers, blacksmiths and farmers
are waiting to demonstrate their trades of
the past and the Denfi eld General Store offers
a unique collection gifts and souvenirs.

Celebrating 75 years, 1933-2008. Experience
the archaeology, art and history of
First Nations people by exploring the gallery
and partially reconstructed 500-year-old
Iroquoian village. Outdoor village site open
May through Nov. Museum has traveling
and permanent displays year round. Annual
Native Harvest Festival takes place Sept.
19-21, 2008. See website for other special
events. Gift shop has Native-made arts and
crafts. Museum open May-Aug.,

SKA-NAH-DOHT IROQUOIAN VILLAGE
AND MUSEUM:

Longwoods Road Conservation Area. A recreated
Iroquoian Village of 1,000 years ago
with 18 outdoor exhibits including palisade
maze and longhouses. At the Resource
Centre are hands-on displays of Iroquoian
culture, artifacts and conservation. There
are 6 km. of trails, picnic areas and wetland
boardwalks. Special events include Archaeology
Day (July 13), Nightwalk with the
Spirits (Aug. 16) and Tastes of Fall (Oct. 19).
The park grounds are open 7 days a week,
9 a.m. to dusk. The Village and Resource
Centre/Museum are open daily Victoria Day
to Labour Day, 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The rest
of the year, open Mon. through Fri., 9 a.m. to
4:30 p.m. Closed holidays.
