AFTERNOON TEA AT ELDON HOUSE:
Afternoon tea is served
Thurs. through Sun., July 5
until Aug. 26 on the lawn at
historic Eldon House. 2-4
p.m. It consists of a variety
of specialty teas, lemonade,
scones, butter and jam.
During rainy days, tea is
served on the Eldon House

HIT THE BEACH:
The city’s only beach,
located at Fanshawe Park
Conservation Area, is small,
but there is plenty of space
for paddling. Pack a picnic
or eat at the beach cafeteria
that offers a good variety of
food, including traditional
favourites like hot dogs, hamburgers,
fries and ice cream

PARK FUN:
Pack up some sandwiches,
a blanket, a frisbee and the
family and enjoy an afternoon
picnic at one of the city’s
local parks. Some favourite

spots include Gibbons Park,
Fanshawe Conservation Area,
Harris Park, Greenway Park,
and Springbank Park, home
of the children’s attraction
Storybook Gardens. All these
spots have children’s play areas.
Victoria Park is located in
the heart of London near the
trendy shops and restaurants
of Richmond Row and an
estimated one million visitors
come to the park each year
for the festivals and special
events held there. The Rayner
Rose Gardens and Elmo Curtis
Memorial Gardens, located
next to Springbank Park, are
small but delightful gardens
that offer a huge variety of
plants and roses, a gazebo,
fountain, benches and winding
paths. The colourful roses
make this park a popular spot
for wedding or family photos.
GOLFING:
London offers some of
the finest golf courses in
southwestern Ontario, including
three City of London
courses: Thames Valley Golf
